This energy infrastructure coexists with established rural landmarks such as Cayuga Sch and several country churches, including Judson Ch and New Bethel Ch.

Preservation of the natural environment is centered on the Engeling State Wildlife Management Area, which covers a significant portion of the eastern terrain. To the southwest, the Trinity River forms the natural county line, winding near Duck Lake.
