The Green River carves a deep path through the eastern portion of this quadrangle, defining a landscape dominated by dramatic vertical relief and significant river navigation points. This 2020 survey records a series of named whitewater features that have long challenged travelers through the region, including Chandler Rapids, Bull Canyon Rapids, and Moonwater Rapids. The river course marks the boundary between Uintah, Grand, and Emery counties as it flows south from Desolation Canyon into Gray Canyon.
