Caliente serves as the focal point of this high-desert landscape, situated where the Meadow Valley Wash flows through the southern portion of the survey. The terrain is dominated by the high elevations of the Chief Range, which runs through the center of the quadrangle, punctuated by the prominent peak of Chief Mtn. This area is characterized by a series of significant drainages including Chief Canyon, Cobalt Canyon, and Antelope Canyon, which carve through the arid topography. The scarcity of water is noted by the presence of isolated points like George Roger Spring and Klondike Spring in the northwest. Transportation in the region is largely defined by the Antelope Canyon Rd, which tracks the seasonal watercourses and provides access through the complex network of ridges and canyons.
