Clara and the surrounding north Texas countryside are defined by a network of drainage creeks and the industrial footprint of the Clara Oil Field. In this part of Wichita County, the landscape is carved by numerous waterways including Wildhorse Cr, Gilbert Cr, and the appropriately named Tenth Cavalry Cr, all making their way toward the Red River at the northern edge of the survey. The community's local history is anchored by the Clara Cem, located just south of the main settlement along Clara Cemetery Rd.
