The high alpine crest of the Bighorn National Forest is defined here by the jagged transition between Johnson and Big Horn counties. Centered on the massif containing Black Tooth Mountain, Mt Woolsey, and the namesake Cloud Peak, the landscape is a complex network of glacial cirques and high-altitude basins. These granite depressions hold numerous remote water bodies, including Glacier Lake, Diamond Lake, and the deep turquoise of Lake Geneva.
