Colquitt serves as the central hub of this northern Louisiana landscape, characterized by a complex network of bayous and forest lands. The southern half of the quadrangle is largely defined by the protected timberlands of the Kisatchie National Forest, which is bisected by the winding path of Middle Fork Bayou D'Arbonne. To the north, the terrain is drained by Little Corney Cr and Corney Bayou, reflecting the low-lying, water-rich environment of Claiborne Parish.
