Double Mountain Fork Brazos River winds through the southeastern corner of this West Texas landscape, defining a complex drainage system across the plains of Garza County. The eponymous Cooper Creek serves as a central artery for the region, fed by numerous man-made water features that reflect the ranching and livestock infrastructure essential to the local economy. These distributed resources, including Kelly Tank, Crowley Tank, and Rood Tank, highlight a pattern of land use where water management is critical to the survival of the range. The terrain is largely defined by gradual elevation shifts, punctuated by singular landmarks such as Two Bush Knob in the north. This 2016 survey documents the modern road network, including Co RD 235 and Co RD 298, which connect isolated water points and ranching tracts within the Brazos River watershed.
