New Cordell and its slightly southern counterpart Cordell serve as the hub of this Washita County landscape, where an intensive watershed management system dominates the drainage basins. Dozens of small reservoirs, such as Boggy Cr Watershed Site 9 Reservoir and Cavalry Cr Watershed 25 Reservoir, are scattered throughout the northern and southern halves of the quadrangle. This infrastructure reflects the region's agricultural adaptation to the plains, managing the flow of Boggy Cr and Cavalry Cr.
