The high desert landscape of central New Mexico unfolds at the junction of the Torrance Co Lincoln Co line, where the small settlement of Corona sits at the southern edge of this survey. A significant portion of the western terrain is occupied by the Cibola National Forest, characterized by complex topography and a network of primitive routes such as Swayback Trl and Crow Bait Trl. The central corridor is marked by the small community of Varney, while the northern portion features the rail-and-road crossing at Torrance.
