Warner Valley dominates the eastern expanse of this high-desert landscape, bordered by the dramatic elevation changes of Corporation Rim. This 1971 survey captures the remote cattle-country infrastructure of Harney County, characterized by a network of seasonal water sources like North Desert Waterhole, Barney Waterhole, and Knob Reservoir. These scattered features were essential for supporting livestock in an arid environment where natural springs are rare.

Evidence of early ranching activity is centered around the north at Bacon Camp and further south at Lower Bacon Camp, which includes a marked Corral. The terrain is deeply incised by drainages such as Bacon Camp Draw and Lynch Gulch, while prominent landmarks like Three Story Rim and Black Cap provide clear navigational markers across the plateau. A few primitive routes, labeled as Jeep Trail and Trail, represent the only transit lines through this sparsely settled portion of the Great Basin.
