The Toiyabe Range dominates this mid-1980s provisional survey, revealing a landscape defined by sharp elevation shifts and localized water sources. In the northern sections, an Open Pit and multiple Prospects signify active or previous mineral exploration, common to this part of the Nevada interior. The steep topography is carved by significant drainage features such as Dead Ox Canyon and Corral Canyon, which descend toward the eastern expanse of Grass Valley.
