Jack Mountain and the towering heights of Crater Mountain dominate this part of the Cascades, where the borders of North Cascades National Park, Mount Baker National Forest, and Ross Lake National Recreation Area converge. The landscape is defined by its dramatic relief, spanning from the alpine reaches of Jerry Glacier to the deep drainage of Ruby Creek. A complex network of water bodies, including Panther Creek and Stillwell Creek, carves through the terrain, illustrating the high-altitude hydrology of the Whatcom and Skagit county line.
