Crater Mtn and the high alpine terrain of the North Cascades define this 2023 survey of the northern wilderness. The landscape is a complex intersection of federally protected lands, where the Pasayten Wilderness and Stephen Mather Wilderness meet the Ross Lake National Recreation Area and North Cascades National Park. A dense network of high-elevation routes, including the Pacific Northwest National Scenic Trl and the Chancellor Trl, trace the steep drainages of Ruby Creek and Granite Creek. The presence of the Jerry Glacier below the summit of Crater Mountain highlights the glacial activity that continues to shape these peaks. This map serves as a contemporary record of trail access and drainage patterns across the Whatcom and Skagit County line, including landmarks like McMillan Park and Elija Ridge.
