The Homochitto National Forest encompasses a large portion of this area in Southwest Mississippi, where the Homochitto River meanders through a landscape defined by small timber settlements and family burial grounds. The town of Crosby and the adjacent community of Stephenson serve as the primary hubs, located just south of the river and east of the Crosby Municipal Airport.
