The Golden Age Mine and Calahan Mine are part of a dense cluster of hard-rock mining claims that defined the industrial character of this high-elevation landscape in the Elkhorn Mountains. This 2011 survey shows a complex network of resource extraction sites, including the Big Tizer Wildcat Mine and the Pataloma Mine, situated among high mountain meadows like Airplane Park and Longfellow Park. The drainage systems of Crow Creek and the Little Tizer Creek are central to the terrain, with the notable Crow Creek Falls serving as a significant hydrologic landmark.
