2024 Map of Crow Rock

USGS Topo · Published 2024

About this map

Crow Rock anchors this high-plains landscape in eastern Montana, situated where the drainages of Crow Rock Creek and Wolf Creek intersect. The terrain is defined by a dense network of intermittent creek beds and coulees, including Ash Creek and Whites Creek, which carve through the prairie. This 2024 survey illustrates the jurisdictional divide of the Garfield Co and Prairie Co line, which cuts vertically through the center of the sheet. Modern connectivity is maintained through a series of local thoroughfares such as Cherry Creek Rd and Crow Rock Rd. The presence of Dead Mans Rd and Little Choke Butte Rd in the southern sections reflects the survival of historic local place-names in this remote ranching and grazing region.
