Bull Lake dominates the southwestern corner of this survey, flanked by the Kootenai National Forest and Kaniksu National Forest. The landscape is defined by the high peaks of the Cabinet Mountains, including Crowell Mountain, Doonan Peak, and Gordan Mountain. Along the shores of the lake, the Dorr Skeels Campground and the curiously named Gallows Island mark the accessible fringes of a territory otherwise dominated by deep drainages like Stanley Creek and Porcupine Creek.

The presence of an indefinite Wilderness Boundary across the northeastern ridges indicates a landscape preserved for its physical character. A lone Gravel Pit and the Idaho State Line running along the western edge provide the only major human-defined markers in a region primarily shaped by its hydrology, where waters flow from Upper Cedar Lake down through a complex network of seasonal and perennial streams.
