Cuesta del Burro dominates the high desert terrain of this Presidio County landscape, defining the topography of this remote West Texas region. The area is characterized by seasonal drainage patterns and significant elevation shifts, most notably along the winding course of Cibolo Creek (labeled also as Cibolo Cr) as it cuts through the southern portion of the quadrangle. To the north, Perdiz Cr traverses the high plains, illustrating the water-scarce geography typical of the Big Bend country. This 2016 survey captures the area’s undeveloped character, where land use is dictated by the natural contours of the cuesta and the critical, intermittent pathways of the local creeks.
