Cusseta serves as the focal point of this mid-century survey, situated at the junction of the Seaboard Coast Line and Central of Georgia railroads. The landscape is defined by the extensive Fort Benning Military Reservation, which occupies much of the northwestern terrain, interspersed with local landmarks like Victory Lodge and a large Hospital complex. The drainage pattern is dictated by Ochillee Creek and its many tributaries, including Cooks Branch and Spring Branch, which wind around numerous named elevations such as McKenna Hill and Ray Hill.
