Bear River winds through the heart of this landscape, its path shaped by the significant engineering of Cutler Dam. The surrounding terrain transitions from the elevations of the Junction Hills and Long Divide into a valley defined by an extensive irrigation network, most notably the West Side Canal. This 2011 survey documents the agricultural and infrastructure layout of northern Utah, where the water of Cottonwood Creek and Willow Creek is channeled to support the rural communities of Fielding and Collinston. Local history and genealogy researchers will find established burial sites including the Beaver Dam Cemetery and East Garland Cemetery. The presence of Cache Junction and Wheelon highlights the region's historical reliance on rail and water management, while landmarks like Cache Butte and The Point anchor the physical geography of the valley.
