Wells Bench and the surrounding Clearwater County highlands are captured here during a period of significant landscape transformation. The northern portion of the map is dominated by the Dworshak Reservoir, a massive body of water created by the damming of the North Fork Clearwater River. This flooding altered the local geography, leaving the small settlement of Dent situated along the new shoreline near several campgrounds.

To the south, the Nez Perce Indian Reservation Boundary cuts across the terrain, separating the reservoir's reaches from the agricultural and timbered uplands of Eureka Ridge. Family and local history is preserved at the Wells Cem and Weseman Cem, while smaller gathering points like Best Corner and Morris mark the crossroads of this rural community. The map also traces the steep descent into Final Gorge and the winding paths of Whiskey Creek and Canyon Creek.
