The Diamond Mountains dominate this high-desert landscape, serving as a natural divide between Diamond Valley to the west and the rolling basins to the east. Historically significant transit routes define the southern half of the map, notably the Pony Express Trl which skirts the base of the range near Horse Canyon, and the Overland Pass that provides a navigable breach through the mountain wall.

Mineral exploration is recorded through a series of numbered mining prospects including Echemendy Number Five and Echemendy Number Ten clustered along the western slopes. Water remains the most critical resource for ranching and travel in this arid environment, evidenced by scattered points like Thompson Ranch and the namesake Diamond Springs, as well as numerous high-altitude springs such as Alba Spring and Rock Springs.
