About this map

Doloroso and the small settlement of Possum Corner anchor this landscape along the border of Adams and Wilkinson Counties in the late 1980s. The terrain is defined by the winding course of the Homochitto River, which creates a complex network of wetlands and drainage systems including Chase Bayou, Second Creek, and Sammy Creek. Much of the eastern and southern portions of the map fall within the Homochitto National Forest, where a Lookout Tower and a large Gas Pipeline corridor are significant landmarks in the timbered hills.
