Drews Reservoir dominates this high-desert basin in Lake County, stretching through the center of the sheet as a vital water source for the surrounding cattle country. The landscape transitions from the open expanse of Drews Valley in the northwest to the rugged rising terrain marked by La Sere Point above the eastern shore. This 2011 survey documents a network of long-established landholdings, including the Builta Ranch, Deely Twomey Ranch, and Hay Creek Ranch, which remain anchored to the seasonal drainages that feed the reservoir.
