The Wing River meanders through the northern landscape of this quadrangle on the border of Otter Tail and Todd Counties. This watery terrain is defined by a dense concentration of glacial lakes and managed drainage systems, including Rice Lake, West Annelaide Lake, and Lake Mary. The presence of County Ditch Number Thirteen and the Annelaide Lake Ditch illustrates the early 21st-century water management necessary for the surrounding agricultural lands. Cultural landmarks are preserved in the form of two distinct burial sites: Trefoldighed Menighed Cem in the northwest and Oak Grove Cem situated near the center of the sheet. A network of rural routes like Co HWY 42 and Otter Tail Line Rd connects the scattered farmsteads that define the human footprint in this lake-heavy region.
