Snoqualmie National Forest dominates this mountain landscape, which is defined by the steep drainage basins of the Green River Watershed. The area is characterized by heavy resource management and hydrologic protection, with the large Howard A Hanson Reservoir serving as a central catchment for numerous tributaries including Bear Cr, Charley Cr, and Piling Cr. The map shows a transition from the lower elevations near Selleck in the northwest toward the high peaks of Ghost Point and Grass Mtn in the south.
