Eagle Lake serves as the central focal point for this Northern Maine landscape, where the waters of the Fish River connect a chain of glacial lakes. Near the southern shore, the settlement of Eagle Lake is established at the mouth of the Nadeau Thoroughfare, which links the larger basin to Saint Froid Lake. This geography defined the early development of Aroostook County, as seen in the clustered local street names and the presence of Saint Marys Cem and Longfellow Cem.
