Edgemon Lake and Emerson Lake sit at the heart of this High Plains landscape, where a network of ephemeral drainages and county roads defines the rural character of Briscoe County. The terrain is deeply incised by the erosive forces of Los Lingos Cr, which passes through Dark Canyon and over Lingos Falls. To the northeast, the land descends into Dobbs Hollow and follows the course of Big Cottonwood Cr toward Cottonwood Lake and Grahams Lake.
