Several prospecting sites are scattered across the southern foothills of the Pinal Mountains and the Mescal Mountains, including the Silver Creek Mine, Silver Dime Mine, and the Vanadium Mine. These operations, along with the Cowboy Mine to the southwest, suggest a period of active mineral exploration and small-scale mining.

The presence of the Trap Corral and a Cabin near Stone Cabin Wash highlights the area's use for open-range grazing. Water sources were critical to both livestock and mining, evidenced by the numerous mapped springs such as Dripping Spring and Mescal Spring. The eastern edge of the quadrangle is marked by the boundary of the San Carlos Ind Res, while the winding El Capitan Canyon serves as a primary topographic corridor through the heart of the territory.
