Esau Spring and its surrounding drainage network define this high plains landscape in Converse County. The area is characterized by an intricate system of ephemeral and perennial watercourses, including the E Fork Lake Cr, Spring Cr, and the winding Tena Cr. These waterways have carved numerous named landforms across the terrain, such as Sage Draw, Frey Draw, and Windy Draw, which indicate the natural flow of water toward the larger Cow Cr valley.
