Live Oak Peninsula dominates the northwestern portion of this coastal survey, where the small settlement of Estes sits along the Intracoastal Waterway. The landscape is defined by an intricate network of barrier islands and tidal channels between Redfish Bay and Aransas Bay, including Traylor Island and the elongated Shellbank Island. To the south, the city of Aransas Pass marks the edge of the mainland before the terrain gives way to the wetlands of Stedman Island and the Lydia Ann Channel.
