The tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula, shown just before the start of the 1940s, reveals a landscape defined by its maritime heritage and the early development of Fort Wilkins State Park. Situated between the expanse of Lake Superior and the narrow waters of Lake Fanny Hooe, this area preserves the remnants of a 19th-century military outpost. The coastal features are particularly detailed, from the protective Copper Harbor and its associated Copper Harbor L H (Lighthouse) to the remote shoreline of Horseshoe Harbor.
