Frisco and the mining landscape of the San Francisco Mountains dominate the eastern edge of this late 1950s survey. This region was once a major silver-producing district, evidenced by the cluster of shafts including the Carbonate Mine, Imperial Mine, and Washington Mine. The map traces an Old Railroad Grade winding through Copper Gulch toward the high-elevation workings of Grampian Hill.

West of the peaks, the landscape transitions into the wide Wah Wah Valley, where water management becomes the primary feature for ranching. Wah Wah Ranch and the Baudino Ranch are supported by a network of springs and infrastructure like the Grover Wash Reservoir and Wah Wah Springs. To the north, the ghost of mining industry is visible at Newhouse (Site), marking where a company town once stood at the foot of the Wah Wah Mountains.
