1959 Map of Frisco

USGS Topo · Published 1980

About this map

Mining operations and remote ranching outposts define this 1959 study of the high desert corridor between the Wah Wah Mountains and the Shauntie hills. The landscape is dominated by the remains of the San Francisco mining district, where the Horn Silver Mine and Cactus Mine once fueled a booming silver and copper industry. By the time of this survey, the major settlements had become the Frisco (Site) and Newhouse (Site), their footprints marked by an Old Railroad Grade and a small Cem.
