Hot Springs Village emerges as a developing residential and recreational center in the early 1970s, anchored by the creation of Lake Coronado and Lake Pineda. This landscape in the Ouachita foothills is defined by the convergence of the Middle Fork Saline River, Little Fork Saline River, and Alum Fork Saline River. The transition from rural forest land to modern planned community is evident in the newly plotted road networks south of the Middle Fork Saline River.

Historical markers of the area's earlier character remain visible, including the Marble Landmark Cem and Talley Cem near Brushy Creek. Higher elevations are marked by Goosepond Mountain and its Lookout Tower, providing a vantage point over the timber-rich terrain. Industrial activity is represented by a Shale Pit near Angling Creek, while local community life is centered at Antioch Ch and the winding course of Cedar Creek.
