The Beaver County Court House stands at the northern edge of this high-desert landscape, anchoring the settlement of Beaver where it meets the irrigation network of the Greenville Bench. This territory is defined by the critical management of water, visible in the sophisticated system of the Aberdare Canal, Barton Ditch, and Patterson Ditch which divert the Beaver River to support local agriculture.

South of the irrigated flats, the terrain rises into the South Hills and the foothills of the Black Mountains. This transition from valley to upland is marked by numerous named drainages including California Hollow and Shannon Hollow. Evidence of high-altitude ranching and water storage is scattered across the southern reaches, including Jims Reservoir and Howards Pond, while the Beaver Municipal Airport occupies the level ground just south of the main township.
