The northern reaches of Hampton and the small settlement of Chapin define this landscape in Franklin County. This northern Iowa terrain is shaped by a branching network of waterways, including the W Fork Cedar River and numerous creeks such as Otter Cr, Buffalo Cr, and Spring Cr. The central corridor is dominated by the north-south passage of Highway 65, which connects the two primary communities and cuts through the grid of agricultural roads.
