Arbuckle Draw carves a deep path through the center of this landscape, reflecting the characteristic basalt coulee and scabland terrain of Grant County. In 1968, the region remained primarily defined by a sparse network of numbered range roads, such as Road 36 NE and Road 30 NE, which connected isolated agricultural outposts like the Corral and various wells to the larger township.
