Salmon River drainage systems define the steep topography of this 2020 survey, where the rugged breaks descend toward the canyon floor. The landscape is marked by a network of seasonal and perennial streams, including First Cr, Second Cr, and Third Cr, which carve deep incisions into the plateau. While much of the area is characterized by these steep drainages, high-elevation clearings like Larabee Meadows and the namesake Hoover Point provide local landmarks for navigation and land management across the Nez Perce and Lewis County line.
