Fremont National Forest defines the high-country character of this Lake County region, where vast open stretches like Horse Prairie and Summit Prairie break the timbered landscape. The area is a network of seasonal water sources and meadows, including Rogger Meadow and Whiskey Flat, which have long supported cattle grazing and timber operations. Numerous natural springs such as Harmon Spring, Twin Spring, and Parallel Spring dot the terrain, feeding drainages like Camas Cr and Crane Cr.
