Ickesburg and the surrounding townships of Saville and Tyrone are defined by a series of parallel ridges including Sherman Ridge and Limestone Ridge. This 1952 topographic survey, with revisions from the late 1970s, documents a rural landscape where narrow valleys support small hamlets like Eshcol, Mannsville, and Little Germany. The infrastructure of the era is preserved in labels for the Ickesburg High School and several rural houses of worship such as Wesley Chapel and Mt Zion Church.
