The settlement of Kemp serves as the focal point of this 2011 survey, situated at the intersection of several local routes in northeast Texas. The landscape is dominated by the sprawling northern reach of the Cedar Creek Reservoir, which shapes the southern half of the quadrangle. A network of rural farm-to-market roads, including FM 1391 and FM 2860, connects the town to the smaller community of Becker to the north.
