Kenai National Wildlife Refuge dominates this section of the peninsula, including the protected Kenai Wilderness (Andrew Simons Unit). The landscape is defined by its complex drainage network, where the Funny River and its tributaries, including Bear Creek, Moose Creek, and Indian Creek, carve through the terrain. Human presence is minimal, represented primarily by the Moose Creek Trl which provides access into the interior wilderness.
