About this map

The Sterling Highway cuts through the southern edge of this map, providing the primary access to the settlement of Sterling and the recreation-rich corridor of the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. The landscape is defined by a dense network of subarctic water bodies including Kelly Lake, Hidden Lake, and Rabbit Foot Lake, alongside the prominent Mystery Hills and Hideout Hill. Much of the territory is protected within the Kenai Wilderness, where the Chickaloon River and Mystery Creek drain a complex terrain of marshes and high ridges.
