Gates of the Arctic National Park encompasses a significant portion of this remote Arctic interior landscape. The terrain is defined by high-elevation ridges and the headwaters of the Colville River drainage system, including the E Fork Etivluk River flowing northward through the eastern sector of the quadrangle. In the northwest, Tuotuk Cr carves a narrow valley between steep contours, illustrating the complex hydrology of the North Slope's mountain foothills. This 2016 survey documents the pristine state of the land within the park boundaries and the surrounding public lands, providing a precise record of the natural topography and watershed patterns before modern climate shifts further alter the permafrost-driven geography of the region.
