The coastal interface of South Texas is sharply defined in this study of the inlets and points separating Alazan Bay from the larger Baffin Bay. Centered on the boundary between Kleberg County and Kenedy County, the landscape is dominated by low-lying wetlands and complex tidal channels. Significant coastal features include the namesake Kleberg Point and its eastern counterpart, East Kleberg Point, which frame the southern entrance to Cayo del Infiernillo. The terrain here is typical of the Texas coastal bend, where subtle elevations like Starvation Point provide the only landmarks across a network of ephemeral ponds and salt marshes. This map documents the hydrologic patterns and shoreline positions of these protected bay waters during the late 2010s.
