Lake Leon dominates the northern reaches of this Eastland County landscape, where the waters of Colony Creek are held by a dam near the Lone Cedar Country Club. The 1960s terrain is a mix of agricultural plots and petroleum exploration, evidenced by numerous Oil Well and Gas Well sites scattered throughout the hinterlands. In the southern half, the small settlement of Kokomo serves as a local hub, situated near the headwaters of Nash Creek.
