2021 Map of Lake Cachuma

USGS Topo · Published 2021

About this map

Lake Cachuma dominates the center of this landscape, its waters filling the Santa Ynez River valley and creating a complex shoreline of points and bays. This 2021 survey illustrates the intersection of recreation and utility, showing Cachuma Village and several prominent overlooks such as Cachuma Point and Santa Cruz Point. To the south, the terrain rises sharply into the Santa Ynez Mountains, a region characterized by deep drainage systems like Gato Canyon and Dos Pueblos Canyon. Much of the southern half falls within the Los Padres National Forest, where the high ridges are marked by Broadcast Peak and Santa Ynez Peak. The network of San Marcos Pass Rd and various forest routes provides access through this coastal range, connecting the lakefront to the summit areas.
