Lake Cachuma dominates this mid-1990s landscape, held back by the Bradbury Dam and sprawling into the Cachuma Bay and Santa Cruz Bay. The reservoir serves as the focal point for the Cachuma Lake Recreation Area, including Lake Cachuma County Park and the nearby Cachuma Village. The surrounding terrain transitions from the developed recreation sites to the protected slopes of the Los Padres National Forest and the San Rafael Mountains.
