The town of Levan sits at the intersection of Ut-28 and Ut-78, serving as a centralized point of settlement at the base of the San Pitch Mountains. This area is defined by the transition from the agricultural grid of the valley to the complex topography of the Uinta National Forest. Local history is anchored at the Levan Cem and the residential blocks surrounding E Center St. To the east, the landscape rises sharply into high peaks and deep drainage systems. Numerous named hollows, such as Chicken-Hollow and Water Hollow, cut through the terrain, while prominent heights like Levan Peak and Horse Heaven Mtn overlook the canyon lands. The drainage of Chicken Cr provides a primary corridor into the mountains, leading to recreation spots including the Chicken Creek Campground.
